Inspiration is a fascinating thing. I envy people that can find it in simple, everyday objects or occurrences. Speaking of finding inspiration, I wrote this after thinking of a bird within its egg, unknowing of the outside world:
Truth Forgotten
Long ago, When I was young, I saw truth out of the corner of my eye. A hole in the eggshell of life, With the etheric mist of dreams and deaths beyond.
So foreign it was to me, That it was dismissed As but a grain of sand.
But as I age I find my thoughts returning More and more to it. And I ponder about, When this façade of mortality is shattered, If it will be a rebirth Or an ending.
Such thoughts come to me as I sit out in the hot summer air, Ponder the universe, And gaze up at the stars.
