I beg to differ! I suppose rich areas of the country might do this, but when I was the Key Club President in high school, I was out there picking up trash on the highway for hours. They break it off into two-mile sections, but it's actually four miles of surface when you count both sides of the road. After a couple of hours, your hands get very tired of those claw things used to pick up the trash, and it's hot, and your sunscreen has stopped working (if you have my white skin, that is), and your head is sweaty because of the stupid hard hat that you must legally wear. When you come across an unwound 90-minute tape, you feel like strangling all owners of tape decks. Fifty bags of trash later, you're finally done--for another few months, that is.
And that, folks, is only the beginning.
