Welcome!

> I used to be mistaken for someone much younger. By now, though, I'm 17 and look about as old as I'm going to (for awhile anyway). I was a late bloomer; I'm still only 5'2, but that's not going to change!

Don't feel bad. I'm 19 and five feet tall. I've been five feet tall since 1996. Yes, I've watched my height closely.

> I remember when I was in 7th grade and I sat on an airplane next to a sweet little old lady. She pulled out pictures of her very handsome grandson, who she said was in 8th grade, and then asked, "so I'd guess you're in about...5th grade?" I was humiliated (and so was she). Fortunately, those type of incidents don't happen anymore. I'm in two college classes, both made up of all 20- and 21-year-olds. They don't notice that I'm even alive, but they also don't notice that I'm not a college student. I can live with that, for now. Two months and some days and I'm not a high-schooler anymore, anyway.

I remember flying alone for the first time. I remember the stewardess bending over, putting her hands on her knees and asking in a very sweet voice, "Is there anything else I can get for you, sweetie?" Maybe I remember it so well because this was last September. Another time, this one lady bent over (in the same position, actually), and said, "How old are you, honey?" I said, "18."

You get used to it, I suppose.
