Question for the Mature Non-married

I almost feel bad for my first original post being based on someone else's post (i.e., Shai'tan's marriage question), almost, but here goes:

To any "confirmed" bachelor(ette)s in Rinky-doodle-dum, what's it like? It is said that marriage is not a solution to loneliness, and i understand that, but what do you do socially? Do singles really flock together so much and just "keep looking" or does a person reach the point of contentment at which (s)he just enjoys life and the relationships already around?

It can't be all bad, because celibate monks gave the Western world wine distillment, if i recall correctly. I just have trouble forseeing such things. Then again, sometimes i dwell way too much in the future and not in LIVING the present.

Thanx,
Penny "still too proud to beg" stamp
