Plumeria? Even the name sounds lovely. I can't wait to smell it someday. :-)

Of all the floral scents I've encountered so far, my favorite has to be Spring Apple Blossom. Not from the artificial "Green Apple" perfumes in stores, or from ornamental apple trees with pretty but odor-free pink flowers. I mean the real, heavenly, glorious smell of an apple tree bursting its heart out with white-blossom goodness. No one has ever been able to synthesize the light-feathered touch of apple-tree perfume. If they could have, they would have; so I doubt anyone ever will.

Freshly-baked bread scent is also high on my list. Thank God for the lovely browning and caramellizing caused by the Maillard cooking reaction, 'cause it smells so goooooood....

> Plant smells... I love the aroma of growing, alive things, especially the fragrances of forests. Redwood grove forest scent is my favorite, although rainforest scent is also very cool. (The two types of forest smell VERY different.)

It's a little sad about roses. Some roses look great, smell foul. But anyone can try playing around with some plant essential oils like those found in The Body Shop. I found that making a weak base from Tea Rose (or a Patchouli) topped up with Vanilla and "Orange Citrus Blossom" high notes made quite a nice scent.

I also like the great "fresh-air" scent that one's laundry acquires, when it's hung out to air-dry on the clothesline outdoors. Mmmm.
