Well, okay, honestly, we don't care too much about whether or not we ever become a state. The only thing that worries us is that there are 500,000 people here without any say in any of the laws that get made for our country. Heck, we have more people than WYOMING, and they get two senators and a Representative. DC, on the other hand, has one shadow representative, who can only vote in committees. At the same time, we are paying the federal taxes that we don't get to vote on. sure, the issue's been bounced around a lot, and it's aklways been turned down... but the main reason is that the Republicans don't like us, because we're the most Democratic area there is.

This is, of course, all my un-biased opinion *cough cough*
