My late friend the novelist Richard Marius once said in a speech that it is true that novelists sometimes makes things up. Nonetheless, they must spend countless hours in libraries doing research to make sure that the stories come out right. Sometimes stories are rewritten many times just to find the right choice of words. --Calvin
