The problem with Christian candidates is that I often don't buy it. A person can be a regular church-goer, and still be a crook, and Christians do not hold the monopoly on morals. Also, I'm afraid that Christian/Catholic political leaders might try to enforce their own beliefs through the law, such as taking away a woman's right to choose and gays' hard-won rights.

Morals, of course, are lacking in government. But for me, a candidate who talks a lot about "a return to family values" is often a red flag, since their family values are not often my own.
