At my last company I was involved in the interview process. That's right -- by the time I left the company, it became an actual process.

When I was hired there, I met with two people. The first guy told me I didn't need to wear a suit and asked me maybe three questions (a former co-worker worked with him and apparently talked me up quite a bit). The second interviewer asked me maybe fifteen minutes worth of questions.

When I left the company, the interview process was about three hours. First there was the "rah rah our company" bit, where we told the interviewee all about our company. Then someone else came in to do the skills assessment interview. Then someone came in to do the "does this person fit in with our company's working culture?" interview. Then sometimes there's a fourth interviewer.

I'd be scheduled to do an interview and would have to call around to find out what part of the interview I was supposed to do.

My new company? Two twenty/thirty minute interviews.
