THAT is *very* true.
In the circles I frequent, where a lot of people attempt writing for...reasons I can't even begin to guess at, frankly, because a lot of them have no apparent skill or talent whatsoever, I've developed an intolerance for 'newbie writers', because they *can't take criticism*. I've never been a particularly patient or tolerant person (you might call me a 'Hitchcock Complex'), but every so often I do make an effort to attempt to help a newbie writer, pointing out what they did wrong and how they should go about doing it in the future.
More often than not, these people take an attitude with me that makes me wonder why I bothered helping them in the first place. I truly wish I knew what bred these grumpy, thin-skinned, ungrateful newbie writers, because I was almost certainly never like that when I began writing, and it baffles me.
