LOL! It takes an orc to explain what an ent is, in the context of snow removal. :-)

I'd say Grishny's right, but just to add to the thread, Tolkein didn't create the word. "Ent" is good Old English, which is the language Tolkein makes the Rohirrim speak, and it means "giant".
