Snowstorm posted by Sam on Monday, February 5, 2001, at 20:21:15:
Well, reading this raises my anticipations. I love snow but being in California limits my contact with it. Only people in elevations above three or four thousand feet have to deal with it on a regular basis. When driving up into the Sierra Nevada, chains are required if there is snow on the road and from what I hear, most people in New England don't use chains much. I'm not sure if they just know how to drive in the snow or if they have snow tires.
My wife and I will be flying out to visit New England in two weeks. Part of me wishes that I could see what this storm is like. The other part of me, the practical side, is glad we don't have to drive hundreds of miles in this storm. We did rent a full size car and I trust that the infrastructure is prepared for snow, but am I? We'll see. I can't wait because it is going to be beautiful! And I love sitting by the fire with snow falling outside. I hope I'm ready for the cold. Packing for Hawaii was easy.
