Well, let me warn you that the actual "melody" here isn't very representative for the rest of the set, but if you'd like, I'll be happy to give you a few other tunes (privately, so as not to violate copyright law more than necessary :-).

> Personally (and from previous discussion, I suspect most here would agree with me) I do not feel that this is a violation of copyright law, especially since it is only one song, most are likely to do as I do and delete it when they are done, and if anything, this will help _increase_ album sales for Mr. Wooten. Wait, let me rephrase that. It probably IS in violation of copyright law, but in the letter, and not in spirit.

That's exactly my thoughts, too. I think we agree on this. :-)

> Copyright laws are not in place to prevent people from allowing their friends to hear music in hopes of encouraging them to buy albums. Quite the opposite. :-)

Yes. And had this been a private forum, where only people I knew were present, I wouldn't hesitate a second. The dilemma is that this forum also is read by many others from time to time, although I think there's a relatively small "hard core" of RinkyDinks who reads almost everything here. Somehow I can't imagine there are a lot of readers who just reads, and never writes. (Actually, it would've been interesting to see some statistics on how many different posters there have been since the dawn of it all.)

Jazz is so amazingly disperse that you'll have no trouble finding something you like. Personally, I've been into funk lately, but now I'm swinging back into fusion again, I think.

You should try Pat Metheny, by the way. But don't be put of by any of it, try another record instead. If you're in to melody and harmonies, try "Secret Story", "Letter From Home", "First Circle" (1st track is really funny there), "Still Life (talking)", "We Live Here" or "The Road To You" (live).

Trav"let me hear what you think, if you try any of them"holt.
