In my experience, the primary market for shirts/paraphenalia such as this are people who

1) dislike using their brains
2) have deep-rooted problems

Just my experience; however, the experiences are consistent.

Oh, yeah, it's both meanness and gender discrimination. It stems from the immaturity ("boys are ICKY!") present in those who haven't "been to the school of hard knocks", so to speak: they've led a sheltered and protected life that has left them eternally infantile.
