You know from private chats we've had I'm in a very similar situation. In my own case, the day came when the words 'I want to split' were uttered and we did. I came home and threw cushions and thumped the sofa for a few minutes in anger as I had been unjustly accused of something. I then did not call for six weeks. Every day was easier and when I did call it was just like two friends chatting after six weeks. As yet neither of us is dating again. I know there's nothing new here, but I guess I'm just saying, a long no-contact period worked better for me than a drawn-out good-bye.
