I finally got to ride my recently-repaired Vespa today. Yes, it was too cold, but I couldn't wait any longer. It started fine, and even with new piston rings, it ran great. I buzzed up and down the road for a while, and then tested the off-road capabilities of the scooter by circling the yard for awhile. We have lots of trees so the ground is rough in places, but a Vespa has a good suspension and it rolled along very well. The turn signals aren't working but I can fix that. Of the six running scooters that I have, this 1974 Vespa is the only one modern enough to have turn signals. I'll adapt.
