I like the poem, but if I were you I wouldn't give it to the guy just yet. Poems are nice and all, but I've seldom known who a person is by reading their poems. From my stance, poems give me a condensed feel for one aspect of the person, but leave me wondering about who the whole person is.
On the other hand (I have five fingers - Ha ha ha), when I read your replies to others, that's when I go 'This girl has something to her. This is someone worth knowing well.' If you want to win the fellow over, ask him to dinner and have a conversation. Then, after a few dates, give him the poem when he really has a person to hold it up against and watch him appreciate it better than most others possibly could.
