Posting a message about a bookshop sale seems a bit silly, after all the poetry flying around this forum at the moment, but this wasn't *any* sale. It was a *75% off* sale!

I've never been fanatical about sales, but 75% off! At the best bookshop in the country! I spent $58 total, which is about U.S. $24 at current exchange rates, and got:

A coffee table book called "Sin in Soft Focus" about pre-Code Hollywood movies ... all those gorgeous stills from gorgeous '30s black and white films... originally priced at over $100.

A book of Red Dwarf scripts.

The Old Norse textbook I never could afford when I was at university (everyone in the class photocopied the relevant chapters from the library's edition). Woo hoo, now I have all those sagas back again! This was supposed to sell for over $90.

Aaaaaand a book of all of John Dowland's lute songs transcribed for classical guitar!!!! Do you know how impossible it is to *find* things like that? Ooh, John Dowland... :-)
