Erm yes. I did, indeed, write this poem. As for "stunning" and "masterpiece of our time," well, I wouldn't quite rank it up there with the poetry of twentieth century greats like, say, Robert Lowell.

Heh. To return to your serious question, Den-Kara: if I am reading between your words aright, perhaps you might be gently inquiring whether what I wrote was original; or did I plagiarize the concept or, worse, the entire work? Answer: God willing, I wrote this by my lonesome (and I can tell you it still needs a lot of work :-) In fact, if anyone can find any poetry or prose similar in concept or execution to "Stand," I would love to see it. To be honest, I'd be absolutely fascinated by any parallels.

It does not bother me that anyone should ask themselves whether a work is too good to be true -- oftentimes it's a legitimate question. I don't personally have a large enough portfolio of creative work to 'prove' the extent of my capacity, you see. :-( But as always, past and future content is the best indicator of worthy utilization of one's talents.
