Yes, I instantly thought of "Iss" when I saw this idea. And, since we all know (or should know) that Issachar is a Mister, I also associated the name of Ishtar with the male gender. I don't know if this makes a difference in your nickname choice, but if you do switch to Ishtar, I'll eventually get used to it.
