Nah, I'll respond!
> I also saw a guy with a leaf-blower, also at Albertsons (oh...that's a grocery store, by the way). Some guy, presumably the manager or some other such employee of the store, made the guy leave the store's parking lot. Here was a guy who was helping other people out, not because he was getting paid to (cuz obviously he wasn't), but because he wanted to out of the very goodness of his heart...and probably because it made him feel good about himself, knowing that he was making a positive difference. It made me upset that he got kicked out...*sniffle*
I'm not sure if I understand this. I've seen quite a few leaf blowers in the last few years, and the people using them are obviously getting paid to do so. I am fairly certain that the manager of Albertson's (that's a grocery store, for those of you who may not have heard of it) was not paying this guy to blow leaves. However, those people are usually paid by the property owners, or sometimes by the city. I highly doubt that anyone in his right mind would blow leaves for fun. The piece of machinery is loud enough that people need to wear ear protection when operating it.
Personally, I can't stand the idea of leaf blowing. That's like moving dirty dishes from one sink to another. It doesn't really accomplish anything, especially if the wind comes up and blows the leaves back again. If people vacuumed leaves, I wouldn't mind. However, when people blow leaves, I figure that there has to be something more worthwhile to be doing.

Um...was that comment for the sake of those still celebrating Stupid Day? I hope so, because there's no 'jewelery' in MY dictionary. :-)
