I've nearly completely lost my voice. When I speak, I'm condemned to a hoarse whisper at the very loudest. I try not to speak at all, because it's just easier on my vocal chords that way. I had to cut out of band this morning because my throat is so dry that playing my sax would have been unbearable.

I'm learning things, though. I never realised just how much I use my voice. I am a chronic self-talker. Now, I'm lonely without being able to talk to myself or my imaginary friends. ;) Normally I sing a lot, humming tunes that have popped into my head, singing on the way home from school to keep my spirits up, as I do my chores, etc... I can't sing anymore. I can only mouth the words. And I miss being able to have long discussions without going into a coughing fit because of the irritation in my throat.

Oh well. My voice will come back, eventually. In the meantime, I have an excuse to not answer teachers' questions, and I have a thermos of chai tea to go with my lunch. Don't worry, be happy!
