A year ago I thought I had the COOLEST most ORIGINAL nickname on the planet (and it was on clocks around the country to boot), and then whenever I try to join an internet club with the nickname Quartz, they almost always say "I'm sorry, that nickname's already taken"! Even if the last Quartz hasn't been on the website for 3 years, I still can't use it. Jeesh. > > So, you know, if there's another Quartz, let me know so I can stop. I might use the nickname "Ideaagent", which is what I use for the Live Adventure games (the Ideaagent is from a story of mine. It's really supposed to be written like IDEA agent). Or maybe "Snapdragon the misfit elf", or "Snapdragon" for short. Or better yet, why don't YOU think of some nicknames for me, because I'm lazy. :^) > > ~~*Q*~~ (that's the siggy I use as Quartz, but if, you know, there's another Quartz or, like, you know, something, I might not, you know, like, use this anymore, you know. You know?)
Quartz. Number seven on the hardness scale. People who study minerals rate their hardness on a scale of 1 to 10 with talc being the softest and rated one, while diamond is the hardest and rated ten. So you can see, quartz is a really hard mineral. Ordinary window glass is about 5.5, so you can scratch your name into a window pane with a quartz crystal. Make sure it's your window. Howard
