30 or 40 miles in which direction? Santa Barbara, maybe? I hope when they get through remodeling the terminal, it will still look a little like it did. I remember seeing that old building in black and white movies.

Travel for us is always iffy. We fly standby. Our target date is about 9 days from now, but nothing is cast in stone. I once started for Miami and couldn't get a flight out of our local airport, so I went home. Last minute changes are part of the adventure.

We spend a lot of time on the central coast. My sister, who is ailing right now, has moved up and down the coast for years. She has lived in Ventura, Morro Bay and several places in between. We have flown into LAX, Santa Barbara, San Jose, San Francisco and Ontario, so why not Oxnard? It's close to where she lives now and I don't think she is going to feel like driving very far. From Oxnard, we could take a cab.
I always like to visit California in winter, especially after there has been enough rain to green every thing up. I do prefer to come when it isn't shaking!
