My guess from what you say about it is that it's the version of _The Three Musketeers_ starring Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, Charlie Sheen, and Chris O'Donnell as Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and D'Artagnan respectively.

As you say, the plot bears almost no resemblance to the plot of the actual book, but it's a fun movie in its own right. IMO.
