I'm gonna take a slightly different approach to this, with a "what if?"-esque perspective. (The true purpose and subsequent result is that I don't ever actually make an opinion about anything, trying to avoid being Opinionated but not Present J, which I realize is impossible due to the circumstance of the facts coming from the perspective of Observer I. And even though I say this, I'll probably be stating my opinion anyways.)

Let's go from the beginning.

Crotchedy A comes in and does what she normally does, enters the line like she usually does. Indignant B informs her of how she cut in front of the line, and she pseudo-apologizes but does not correct her error, for motives yet unclear. What if, instead, she actually did apologize and did join the line at the proper place? Indignant B would possibly be satisfied, and Snickers C and D would possibly be inconspicious. This would not prevent Cutters E and F from making their cut, but with Indignant B's example, someone may have spoken up before Profanity G had a chance to blow his gasket. Perhaps Profanity G would not have been so inclined to blurt his protest without the frustration of Crotchedy A's initial cut. And perhaps Worker H would have taken this as a cue that the line today was not grocery-style, but bank-style, and opposed Cutter E instead of supporting him.

If Indignant B had not vocalized her opinions, Profanity G might have gone off prematurely before his shout at Worker E, to unknown ends. Snickers C and D would have nothing to snicker about, or perhaps they would start joking about Crotchedy A instead. Worker H might be satisfied that, finally, someone knows how to line up. Observer I may have taken Indignant B's place in the scenario.

Snickers C and D, if they had simply remained unobserved, might have hypothetically changed Indignant B's decision to take up with Crotchedy A again after she had made her order. She may have been infuriated by the snickers of Snickers C and D, and Worker H would not have noticed such a big controversy over the line since the one mishap so far would have been resolved quickly and quietly.

Cutters E and F show up and line up like they usually do, inadvertently cutting off the rest of the line. Suppose they had, after Profanity G's protest, decided to avoid trouble and line up normally. The line would have remained the same, as Worker H would have no one's view to support, and would probably want someone else to take care of the line mixup. Profanity G is satisfied at the moment, but may have erupted again if another had come in and made the same mistake.

If Profanity G had not complained, another following Indignant B's example may have spoken up. Cutter E's reply might not have been so high-and-mighty if they were responding to a calm protest instead of the hot-headed curses of Profanity G. If no one had protested, perhaps the bank style line would still be intact as Worker H would feel no need to correct the crowd. Perhaps at this point more people would start cutting the line.

If Worker H had not corrected the line structure, Profanity G and possibly others in the line might have continued their argument with Cutters E and F, to unknown ends. The scenario above with Cutters E and F acknowledging their mistake may have occured or not.

If Observer I had not observed, I (referring to myself) would not be typing this right now.

So there you have it. A poorly worded and dramatically inthorough account of what might have been. Judge for yourself who is right or wrong based on what would have happened if they had decided otherwise. =)
