Obviously, at the very least, Crotchedy A, Indignant B, Profanity G, and arguably Cutter E had very particular opinions at the time about who was right and who was wrong, to the point of these opinions being voiced confrontationally toward total strangers (which may or may not tie in with Dagmar's recent "to those who consider themselves human" thread). And yet, as these particular opinions were at odds, they can't all be wholly right.

Every McDonald's I have been to is always grocery-style-lines. I would have done the same thing as Cutter E.

In your view, you're calling him Cutter E. From his point of view, he was more likely Lucky Guy A. Meaning that he goes to McD's for lunch, and upon entering, notices the register by the door is free.

People are situational. We take others actions and apply to them to our own little world. Granted, we can't always know other people's intents, but shouldn't we look at other possibilities?

It sounds like Crotchedy A might have known exactly what she was doing and just didn't care. If that was the case, then she was absolutely wrong. Indignant B had every right to be upset, and say something to Indignant A. At the very least, maybe Indignant A will start to be more aware of her surroundings. Snicker C & D were neither right or wrong. They were obviously joking amongst themselves, and that's harmless enough.

Cutters E & F sound like a couple of guys who, from their point of view, just got lucky enough to walk right up to a free register without having to wait.

Profanity G was way out of line with his comment. I can understand the reason behind it, but cursing out loud in a restaurant (especially McD's where there are usually a lot of kids) is just plain wrong.

I don't fault Worker H at all. She was merely doing her job and suddnely noticed the line structure. Since McD's normal line structure is grocery-style, she said as much to the crowd.

Observer(Sam)I(am) is just that...an observer. No action was necessary on his part.

I think what it all boils down to is a simple misunderstanding that a few people over-reacted to.

That's my two cents worth, anyway.
