Christmas Eve

I love Christmas Eve. I don't know if I love it MORE than Christmas itself, but it's probably pretty close. Let me tell you about my day.
I woke up late, cause my alarm was really quiet so my mommy had to get me up - but got the last Lucky Charms! And a piece of shoefly pie!
I then went to church, where I got cool presents from two of my friends - 365 Days of Duct Tape from my best female friend, and a necklace, soap, and cologne from another close friend. And then we had sunday School, which was fun. And then OneStaple gave me his present. And I can't open it until tomorrow! Arg! But the wrapping job is really pretty.... and there's a real flower, and some holly, stuck in the bow. and he went all the way to Tyson's Corner (at least a half hour drive - probably more what with traffic and such) as opposed to going to montgomery Mall (5 minutes from his house - WITH bad traffic) for it. So it's GOT to be good. I've been stressing about it all day, but I'll probably put off opening it, because anticipation is half the fun.
When I got home, I had major prep to do. I had to make some stuff for my grandparents stockings (a few years ago, I realised that my Grandpa and Frubie always get stuff for OUR stockings, but THEY never had them. So I started getting things for them, and my sister joined me in crime a couple years later.) I managed to find OneStaple's Christmas present (finally!) and it's been ordered..... link at the bottom for those who want to see, and don't even ask me to tell the story behind it.
I also wrapped all of my presents for people. My brother worked for hours and hours and HOURS on my present. He estimates it'll take me at least 40 minutes to an hour to open. I'm pretty sure it involves codes and all kinds of insane stuff like that.
we had christmas dinner, always much yumminess. Then I had to write a poem for our Annual Big christmas Tradition. Every christmas Eve, our family performs the Christmas story in a different way. when we were little, we just did stuff like puppets and paper bag masks. In recent years we've gotten more creative - Opera, Shakespeare, Comedy Sports, etc. This year we did A Dr. Seuss Christmas - each of us took a different scene and wrote a Dr. Seuss-style poem about it. Writing them was nearly as much fun as reading them... although parts of mine were funny, apparently, which I hadn't realised were. It was so much fun - not the best we've done, but Eric, my 2.5 year old brother, had a GREAT time.
Then my brother played the piano, and my sister the viola, and we sang a bunch of Christmas carols. I think that's one of my favorite moments of the year. I was sitting between my grandmother and my father, and picking up the alto parts from Frubie, and I just got this warm comfy foofy family feeling. I think everyone did really.... it's hard to describe, but it always makes me feel so close to everyone.
And then we had Jesus Birthday Cake, made by Frubie and REALLY good, and then I sorta goofed off, and now I'm writing this.
And soon I shall go to bed.
Goodnight.
Merry christmas to those of you who celebrate it - to those of you who don't, all of the warm fuzzies behind the words. I love you all.
