12 days, maybe? posted by Howard on Sunday, December 24, 2000, at 14:14:00:
> After reading RinkWorks posts and talking to friends and relatives, I have come to the conclusion that Christmas is not just a day anymore. My wife's mother was here for a few days, but had to go home Friday, so we had a little Christmas and opened the presents from her to us and from us to her. Then today,(24th) my grandson came by for a visit and brought a couple of presents that he had opened at church and his other grandmother's house. He gets to open some more at home tonight, because he is coming to our house in the morning, early. Then tomorrow he will get to open some more. I assume the other grandchildren are doing something similar. One won't get here until about 11 am tomorrow so we will be opening a few gifts mid-day. Then there will be trips to other family households for a few days after Christmas, and more gifts. With a large extended family, scattered across two states, Christmas can last for days and days. I just hope it all ends before our 45th wedding anniversary in a week and my wife's birthday a week after that.(I always run out of gift ideas about this time of year.)Why don't we just have a week long celebration beginning about the 22nd or so? Well, I suppose we are doing that already. > Feliz Navidad, mi amigos. > Howard
