My French is rusty, so I used Babelfish for the Subject title. Hope it makes sense.
Since I have fairly easy access to the internet during our vacation, I figured I'd just do my Adventures post as we go along, rather than try to remember everything after we get home.
Consider my reply to Sam's "Meeting" post the first installment...that was day one.
Day Two: Today we went over to my father-in-law's house for brunch with him and his significant other and with my wife's brother's family. He's married and has a two-year boy, and his wife is currently with child.
We had a delicious meal with them, and they got to ooh and aah over "baby Jonathan." We oohed and aahed over dad's hand-squeezed orange juice, even though it wasn't all that good! Afterwards we opened some Christmas presents. In our haste to leave this morning, we forgot to bring our gifts, but we'll have another opportunity to give them next week.
My brother-in-law had to leave eventually, since they live some distance away. We'll see them again the day after Christmas. We stayed for a couple hours and chatted, and finally left. I finished up a roll of film while we were there, so we stopped at a Walmart on the way back to drop off the film. The place was a madhouse. According to the drop-off schedule, regular film processed wouldn't be back until a week from Sunday, so I gave it to the one-hour people, who informed us that they weren't doing one-hour, but they would have it for us tomorrow. Okay by me. If I have time when I get the pics back, I'll use them to show my mother-in-law how to use her scanner, and in the process I can possibly put up a new page of baby pictures while on vacation in New Hampshire! Cool, huh?
We had the house to ourselves for a few hours after we got back, so we relaxed and all took naps. Then we had dinner and watched Toy Story 2 for the first time, and were well-entertained. Although I think some of the funniest stuff was during the "outtakes" during the end credits. We spent a large part of the movie trying to figure out who did "Jessie's" voice, and then read in the credits that it was Joan Cusack. Neither of us have any idea who she is, although the name sounds familiar. Anybody know what she's been in?
Anyway, it's now 11:20 PM and we're heading for our bunks. We're going to my wife's old home church for services tomorrow morning, which also happens to be the church we were married in. I'm sure we'll see lots of familiar, friendly faces, and we're both looking forward to showing off our baby boy!
