The daughter of a lady I work with drives a VW bus. I don't know about other places, but around here, if you drive a VW bus, you are either a hippie or a retired hippie. VW bus owners all seem to know each other, even in a large city. This lady recently told a story about how she saw a multi-colored VW bus when she was visiting someone in another town. She told her daughter about it, and her daughter exclaimed, "Oh, that's John's bus! I know him!"
