That sounds like every single field I ever played soccer on at school. Sometimes you could only identify your own team members by shape recognition. "Mudball" would have been a better name for it.

Speaking of swamp-related sports, there is an annual World Bog Snorkelling Championship. I heard of it a few years ago, when it was being held in a Welsh bog. The course is 100 metres long; I think the fastest time recorded was something like an hour. :-)
