I tend to lean towards kind of wierdish-drama movies, such as Frequency. I didn't have high expectations for it, but it made me cry...definitely a great thing. If a movie makes me cry, it either means that a.) I loved it very much and will now watch it 30 times in a row, or b.) it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. (In 8th grade I made the fatal mistake of watching Spice World in the movie theaters with four of my friends...let's just say that it was pointless and stupid beyond description.)

I admit, if a sci-fi movie doesn't involve creepy-looking aliens and stuff like that, I might be able to watch it. The movie Sphere, for example, was excellent IMO. I'd read the book first, so of course I thought it was better, but the movie was still excellent.
