I figured it out. Her old 'puter can't recognize >2GB drives without a secondary bios called EZBIOS. This thing was active on the 1GB drive and for some weird reason was trying to combine the 1GB and the 13GB as one drive -- - without having any success. Once i disabled the EZBIOS on the 1GB drive, everything fell into place.

Oh, and Howard. . . ROFL!
