I don't go shopping very often. However, WMM wanted to go, so we drove over the the mall in Maryville(TN). I didn't personally buy anything but I got a little exercise while she shopped and, naturally, I engaged in a little people watching.

I was the only one there without a cell phone. I saw a man and a woman walking side by side, both of them talking on the phone. I think they were talking to each other.

There was a place that offered free ear punctures for people who bought overpriced ear rings. One lady had an ear punctured and yelled her head off. I guess you could call it a piercing scream. You may have noticed that I said "ear," singular. She left abruptly without having the other one done.

I read about an new high-tech lasar device that pierces ears and cauterizes them at the same time. It also has a loud whistle to cover up the piercing scream.

Another thing I noticed is that a lot of children are pushing strollers. It could be my imagination. The last few years I taught, the parents looked younger every year.

That place that sold those big, delicious, over-priced cookies, now bakes cell phones. It's
really a pity.

I wandered through a toystore and they didn't sell anything that didn't use batteries. I was looking for a Nerf football for my 3-year-old grandson. They didn't any one. The front half of the store was filled with batteries.

Doesn't J.C.Penney sell anything besides clothes these days? I can remember buying a bicycle and a TV set there not too many years ago.

Why do little bitty TV sets cost more than 25 and 30 inch sets?

I looked at some king sized super deluxe model TVs and the pictues looked terrible until you backed up about 30 feet. I think I see why they are going to HDTV in the near future.

I think I may go shopping again sometime soon. May or June, maybe.
