At the beginning of each year, the geography teacher at my school gives her most amusing assignment: In groups, the students have to draw the world, complete with political borders and physical features. The trick is, they can't use any maps or helps of any kind, it's all done from memory. Then those maps go on display for the rest of the term. Talk about worldwide ignorance. Sometimes students forget whole continents.
