Up here we keep the Harvest Feast when the crops actually come in, not when there's snow on the ground -- the fields have been frozen for four days now, so winter's "officially here" in our book. As that flamboyant Kenny Kosnick points out in too much detail, Canadian Thanksgiving is celebrated in October (the second Monday of the month thereof). It was October 9th this year, which was coincident with both Yom Kippur *and* Columbus Day. Hey, three for one... Woohoo!

Actually, that's pretty uncanny, because the Day of Atonement is supposed to be marked by a fasting abstention from food and drink. Oh no, now I feel a bit guilty.
