Tom and Dick were in college when they started their act professionally. Their act grew out of "stretching" their material to fill up the time.Tom's the older of the two by 22 months[his birthday is groundhog day] And "MOM ALWAYS LIKED DICKIE BEST"
They are still performing and still VERY FUNNY.
And what kind of a ? is "Did Dick ever do anything?!" LOL
Could there have been George without Gracie, Lucy without Rickie, Groucho without Harpo and Chico,one stooge without two others?
A Good straight man is hard to find, an Excellent one is Dick Smothers!
By the way, He was also a professional race car driver in the 60's-70's.
