Frankly, I can't beleive this thread has been up this long. But I feel compelled to add to it.

While I too, basically agree with the thoughts behind this "story" I also have problems with the delivery.

Like, Shadofax indicated, there are other sides to this...and more than you might think. I could write an equally moving story about how the mother chose abortion because her family and her church failed to give her the support she needed and in desperation she chose an option even she didn't like.

But, like this story, the end result would be the same. If you AGREE with the storytellers premise, you feel shocked and outraged, but you also feel good that you are one of the "good guys." If you DISSAGREE you feel shocked and outraged that such a peice of tripe gets passed arround. Neither reaction produces much, if any action OTHER than the emotions.

To be honest, at first, I was going to compair this story to a parable. Jesus told parables. But then I realized that Jesus told such storys to provoke THOUGHT, not EMOTION.

If you have something to say, you should say it logically, presenting your arguments, AND also present reasonable options for resolution. This story, while touching, does none of this.

Just my 2 cents.
