But wait a minute, what if the 'victim' is allergic to some ingredient in the pie and goes into analphalactic shock because of an allergic reaction? Gee. Hadn't thought of that before. Oh, and I guess the results would be disastrous if someone decided to put razor blades in a cherry pie. But no one does that, do they? We're a civilized people, after all, and we'd never use anything stronger then a merangue.

Yes, these irresponsible proponents of uncontrolled pie use are a danger to all the free world. Have they thought of the consequences of starting a global Pie Race? Sure, sure, *today* Wormwood says he wouldn't go above a meringue. Tomorrow the guy down the street takes out Wormwood's best friend with a meringue, and next thing you know he'll be jumping up on this forum advocating madeira cake with lemon frosting. In a world where any citizen can access pie recipes over the Internet - even in a public library - which were once only available to trained chefs, do we really want this sort of thing? Even now, it's not unusual for small children to be found taking baked goods to school, often with parental consent!

I'd say something about the "right to bear pies" issue in the USA, but that would bring animal conservationists into the argument. Maybe cow pies would be a better idea. Or maybe not.
