I'd love to see movies where the ending can't
wholly be described as *either* "happy" or "sad."
At any rate, some of the more unpredictable
movies I've seen lately: "The Spanish Prisoner,"
"Diggstown," "The Grifters," "Traveller," "The
Last Seduction"...wait a second...why are all
these movies about con artists?

Yesterday "Pleasantville" hit video.
Unpredictability is probably not one of its
primary virtues, but it's just as entrancing and
inspiring as if it were. Go see it.
