My new house is SO ruling!

We just went to take some miscellaneous stuff from our motel rooms to our new house. We won't move in until Tuesday, which is the earliest we can get the moving company to deliver our stuff (they've been keeping it for us).

During this visit (my second) to the house, I just fell in love with it. The house itself is pretty standard, kinda small (3 bedroom, 2 bath), but that's not what special about what we're getting. The house is on six acres of land, and the front overlooks a beautiful valley. The house is on the wrong side of a hill to see the sun setting, but while we were there the clouds over the valley were very prettily colored from the sunset. Right before we left, we saw the (nearly) full moon above the mountains on the other side of the valley. Gorgeous. Plus, it's in the middle of nowhere, so we'll be able to see loads of stars (when it's not a full moon night).

But that's not all. Our landlords (an extremely nice couple) live down the street a bit (they live on six acres too), and between our houses, there is a FORTY acre piece of land they own which we can use whenever we want. This land includes parts of two forks of a river (the Cosumnes). They bought this land to keep all the trees from being cut down, and in their will they will make sure it's preserved.

They also own five dogs, and some Arabian horses. I don't know much about horses, but they're going to teach my sister and me, and we'll get to exercise them! On the 40 acre piece, they have a small pool they keep koi and bluegills. If we're down that way, they've asked us to take a few handfuls of fish food from a nearby bin and toss it in. They've also started on a bonfire circle down there, and are thinking of building a sort of screened-in tea house.

Our dog had an absolute blast while we were exploring the areas. I don't think she stopped running around once (and now she's covered in burrs--we'll have to get a brush ^^). The only thing is that mountain lions have been known in that area to make snacks of pet dogs and cats, so we'll have to be careful.

Also, we think we'll be able to get DSL. Our landlords are going to get it, but the service doesn't sound that great--they asked a month and a half ago to get it installed, and it hasn't happened yet. Still! DSL!

If you've actually read this far in my rather random excited thoughts, then congratulations. :) If you've just skipped to the end to see if I had a point, then :P~~~~ (that's a raspberry...several people have asked me what it was).

Too bad I'll be leaving this house for the next semester of college at WVU.
