Everything I hear or read reminds me of another story.
I have a two-year-old grandson who loves to eat. It's sort of a hobby with him. He will eat anything you put on his plate, but he does have favorites, and meatballs is close to number one.
He also likes the word, and anything that is round is a "meatball." The other day, my wife took him to the garden and he discovered some plants covered with green tomatoes. She said she heard him say "Meatballs!" and turned to see him gleefully picking the unripened tomatoes. He got eight of them before she could get to him. We had them for supper, fried. Pretty good meatballs.
How"meatballs is??"ard
