> Ooo, good choice, but no. They started hyping Godzilla for longer, though. (I saw the first ad in front of, I think, Conspiracy Theory, which was released in August 1997.) But for 101 Dalmatians, spots were absolutely everywhere for a couple of months solid. McDonald's even changed their french fry cartons so they had spots on it. Pretty much ALL of Toys R Us's inventory had spots on it. It was pretty horrific. The worst part about it was all the people that went out and bought real, actual dalmatians and then had to get rid of them because they had no idea just how high-strung dogs they are. (Second only to border collies in that department, and even then it depends on the dog.)

Hmm. Guess I don't pay enough attention to advertising :-). I noticed the McD's fry cartons, but as for the rest... well, I guess I'm out of it. I *did* see some pretty bizarre Godzilla stuff, though, from Shampoo to pencil-top erasers to the old stand-bys like action figures. Kinda like the eighties all over again! (The "golden age" of non-sequitur merchandising.)
