A cousin of mine is a vegetarian, and she weighs probably 300 pounds. Also, when I became a vegetarian in high school (only lasted a year) I did it the wrong way. Instead of meat, I ate junk food. That's when I gained lots of weight. After I stopped being a vegetarian, I lost most of it. > > > > *Warning- gross stuff ahead* > > In another reply to this thread, Brunnen-G stated that she does not eat pork because she has to practice giving shots to pig parts. I completely understand this view, since I've seen slaughter, processing, and carcasses hanging from racks (it's not that often of an occurance, fortunately). For a few days after one of these experiences, I'll stop eating that particular type of meat. > > Last year, I raised chickens for a school poultry project. In July, the chickens were sold to a major poultry company. From July until September, I wouldn't eat that brand of chicken for fear that it was one that I had helped raise. > > *gross stuff over* > > > > Sil"I think that's my longest Forum post ever*vercup > > I must be a sincerely coldhearted person. I've eaten animals I've named. We were kind of disappointed when we realized there was no more Earl in the freezer.
We (well, my dad and stepmom) raise sheep. Granted, they aren't the same type that get slaughtered, but they're sheep, some of which are lambs. For Easter one year my stepmom brought in lamb. I liked it and didn't feel the slightest qualm about eating it. Had it been one of our own, though, I wouldn't have touched it. Someone brought up eating cats and dogs. I could never eat a cat because I'm such a cat guy, but I have seriously considered eating dog, not only to see what it tasted like, but to spite the type of vegetarians who use the argument "Would you eat dog? What's the difference between a dog and a cow?"
