> Well, I might as well go ahead and answer this one. I'm a veghead for taste reasons. Ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper, I haven't liked the taste of meat. So, a soy burger claiming that it tastes "Just like a hamburger" has no appeal to me at ALL! Gardenburgers are good because they taste nothing like a hamburger. > > And if a veghead doesn't eat meat because of ethical reasons, it can safely be assumed that they *like* the taste of meat, therefore, eating something that *tastes* or looks like meat isn't bad, so long as it *isn't* meat. Do you see what I'm getting at? They have made this HUGE sacrifice (for themselves, anyway. For me, not so much) of not eating meat...not because they don't like it, but because they don't like the idea of eating something dead. Or some such thing. > > Ti"Vegetarian for 12 years and counting"cia
Yeah, and it might also appeal to:
- someone trying to make the transition from eating meat to not, or
- someone who's just trying to *reduce* their meat intake.
We've had the veggieburger things for the "reduce meat intake" reason. I can't remember what I had that one time, but it was sort of like... a supreme pizza w/o cheese? That is, once I put that all-important any-kind-of-burger topping, ketchup, on it. :)
