Our state bird is the mockingbird. (I know this, because in elementary school, my class had to do Florida Projects and so I can also tell you thousands of other pointless facts upon request, such as the state drink, orange juice.)We have a state bird that doesn't even have a characteristic call; it just mimics other birds. How silly is that? FL representative Howard Futch thought it was pretty silly, too, so in an even sillier move, he was campaigning quite vigorously for the state bird to be changed to the scrub jay, but the bill was defeated. Mockingbird it stays. ::shrug:: I'm serious; see the link below. > > There isn't anything more important going on in FL for our legislators to discuss? > > Now I'm telling you all how pointless this is, but of course I remember all of this, and I have no idea where I left my keys... > > -Fob"nuts, another wasted brain cell"ulis
Tennessee's state bird is also the mocking bird. If Florida wants to give us an exclusive on this bully of the bird world, you could have the mosquito as your state bird. But you might get some flack from Minnesota. How"I just tell 'em, I don't explain 'em"ard
