In particular, he makes some pretty broad and sweeping generalizations about books versus computer text. Since we've got a crowd here that is literate in both media, I was wondering what people thought. I'm going to sleep soon (I feel asleep!) so don't have the energy for a lengthy post of my own, but will be sure to respond to any discussion that hopefully gets going....

Reading books is a tactile experience as well as a visual and mental one. I dislike reading long documents on computer monitors, and holding a plastic mouse is much different than flipping textured paper. Granted, print quality in books degrades over time and cheap, boring paper is gaining popularity with publishers, but books still win on those counts.
