Book election #6 has concluded, and I must thank all you voters for electing the book I least wanted to win. I had started reading that book some years ago, couldn't get into it, and put it down. (This time, at least, I have the reassurance that Dave's fiancee has read it and recommends to keep plugging away at it.)

Actually things worked out pretty well. On my previous book election, "The Book of Three" won, and I'm happy for that, because I thought that was great. So great that I forged right ahead and read the next book in that series, "The Black Cauldron," and that was even better. And I finished that almost a week before the current book election concluded. At that time, I suspected the outcome of the book election would be what it turned out to be, though it wasn't a sure thing then, so I started reading "The Magic of Recluce," the book I *most* wanted to win (it's been in every election I've had this far), and now I'm beyond the half way point in it. So far it's great, and I will finish the series in time. The only thing I regret is that he's still writing books in that series, having come out with #9 last month. Why can't people stop after one? Or at least three? Fantasy novels are humongous as it is.
