Basically:

Every year that is evenly divisible by four is a leap year. (like 1988, 1992, and 1996)

Unless the year is evenly divisible by 100, then it's not. (like 1700, 1800, and 1900)

But if the is evenly divisible by 400, then it is. (like 1600, 2000, and 2400)
